We understand that joining a nursery for the first time can bring lots of questions and anxiety.  At LAS we have developed a Settling in Programme to ensure you and your child get the reassurance you need to feel settled before you are due to start with us. As well as joining us for tours and open days, you can also bring your little one for a Stay and Play session before you make any decisions. We have collated all the information on the website and more in our Nursery Prospectus.

Every child has their own key person to help them feel settled while they’re at the nursery. Your key person will work closely with you to understand your child’s individual needs and routines.

If you decide to join LAS Nursery, we will arrange a home visit where your child can meet their key person in their own environment before they start at the nursery. This is an opportunity for your child to start building a rapport with their key person and share information about routines and their likes and dislikes.

To ease the transition to nursery, we invite you to come along to sessions before your start date at LAS Nursery. This programme is completely free and allows you to take the time you need, to feel comfortable leaving your child at the nursery for the first time.

We start with one-hour sessions and build up from there. During these sessions you’ll both get to know your key person and develop the key person – child bond so that they feel safe and comfortable to stay for a longer sessions each time.

As a small business, we understand the financial climate is difficult for everyone. That is why we have kept our fees as low as possible and they remain one of the most competitively priced nurseries in the borough and beyond. Fees are calculated over 52 weeks of the year, and averaged into 12 monthly payments. Fees include our extra curricular sessions, meals, snacks, nappies and milk.  We offer NHS and sibling discounts, get in touch for more info.

Currently under the HM Government Tax Free Childcare Scheme, some 2-year-olds are eligible for 15x hours funding. Universally, all 3-4 years old are eligible for 15x hours funding with some families even eligible for 30x hours a week. This funding can be spread over 38x weeks (term-time) or 50x weeks.

From April 2024 the 15 and 30 x hours childcare support is due to be expanded, you can find out more about government funding on the Childcare Choices and Hackney Council websites and sign up for details about how and when to register for support with childcare costs.
